IBM schrumpft sich weiter weg

Business as usual bei International Business Machines. Machines? What??

Im 3. Quartal schrumpften Umsatz und Gewinn weiter wie gewohnt. Hoffnungsträger sind die neuen Mainframes der Generation z15, nur kamen sie für dieses Quartal einfach zu spät. Oder wie es Finanz-Chef Jim Kavanaugh bei der Präsentation des spröden Bilanz-Zahlenwerks formulierte: "Our Systems revenue was down 14 percent, primarily reflecting the back end of our z14 mainframe product cycle. We continue to invest to bring new innovation to our platforms, and we announced our next generation of IBM Z, which started to ship the last week of the quarter. Our new z15 has a strong value proposition, and we had a solid start to the cycle, in-line with our expectations." Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt – mit der z20...

Und bei Power powert IBM einfach viel zu wenig, um die Schwäche beim Alteisen auszubügeln

Es geht ans Eingemachte: Die EPS-Prognose für 2019 wurde gesenkt! Das ist ein Hammer. Ginni rechnet für das laufende Geschäftsjahr 2019 nur noch mit einem (verwässerten) Ergebnis je Aktie (US-GAAP) von mindestens 10,58 US-Dollar (bisher: 12,45 US-Dollar). Das dürfte den Aktionären überhaupt nicht gefallen...
